January 2019 | A Personal Blog from Alyssa | Lehigh Valley Documentary & Wedding Photographer

One of my resolutions for 2019 is to post a monthly blog sharing some personal images from our family. I am still trying to work out the best way to share and figure out how I want these personal blogs to look. I know it will be an evolution until I find what feels right, but for now, I am going to just enjoy the process and savor this little project of mine! Low stress and zero pressure is gonna be the name of this game, folks!

It’s taken me far too long to realize how quickly life pushes forward once you have kids. Everyone says it, but it’s so true—time flies and I am SO thankful that I have images of us being us.

I love documenting our days and telling the story of our family through images. While at times our story looks messy or chaotic, it’s ours and it’s perfect and I know in my heart, that some day our girls will treasure these little moments from their childhood.

Well, January has come and gone. I look back on these images and feel like, “Wow! We accomplished a lot!” :

  • We Konmari’d

  • Survived two snow storms and endless trips to the grocery store

  • We had a “Mommy & Me Snuggle Portrait Session” with Kristin-with-an-I Photography

  • We spent quality time with my grandmother who came to stay with us for a few days

  • I practiced taking photographs of food for a family recipe book I’m putting together

  • Had dental appointments

  • Snuggled A LOT, read countless books, colored, played in the snow and just enjoyed being hunkered down during these cold January days.

So, here they are…some of my favorite images from this month!

I feel myself being pulled to do more documentary work for clients who have young families like mine. Portraits don’t always need to be formal—they can be playful and unapologetically you. If you’re loving these images, let’s get you on my calendar for a Storytelling Session!
